This was my experience. I knew women in my life who had had losses, but I had no idea how many until I shared publicly about mine. I had so many people reach out and tell me they went through the same. It’s so important to talk about it if you’re comfortable doing so, to destigmatize it. Thank you for what you’re doing.

I also was shocked by how ill-prepared I was for mine. It was described in what I read as being like a heavy period. It was so much worse than that.

I missed the question window so no worries if you don’t see this, but how often do you see double blighted ovum scenarios? That’s what happened to me and I was told it’s extremely rare. Basically a twin pregnancy but both were blighted ovums. Further research i did brought up the idea that it could be a sign of genetic issues. It was my first and only pregnancy. Most things I found on it referenced a pregnancy with one developing fetus and one blighted ovum, so my anxiety about trying again is through the roof with the idea that it could happen again or that any pregnancy we conceive will have genetic issues. Is it really that rare to have 2 blighted ovums in 1 pregnancy, or is it just not often talked about?

Thank you. And no worries! I totally get that it’s not your specialization. Yes, I am in the US. I appreciate your reply :)
