Really depends how you want to go about it. I have my degree in biology and work as a hazmat response officer with the government. A colleague of mine has a masters in biochemistry. It's very specialized and difficult training to get into levels above HAZWOPER. I'm a level 4 hazmat tech with a speciality in railcars.
Private industry- you have to work your way up. Most places are consulting firms where you start out as a field grunt. You make it up to a assistant project manager after a few years, then a PM depending on the size and scale of the company. Prepare for LONG days and a lot of travel. Some places don't compensate the time dedication it takes.
