Stallone definitely deserves a lot more credit as a writer. Rocky has very natural dialogue and characters. I can't recall a moment in the original that felt pretentious or contrived. And yeah, not everyone can create an original character that produces such a huge impact but he's done it more than once.

He also produced Manson's greatest album. Manson's personality and vocals undoubtedly had a huge impact on his success in the 90s, but without Reznor and Twiggy/White it wouldn't have meant as much. ICP can sell shit albums with facepaint. Those guys elevated the songwriting of Manson's career and made legitimately great music out of it.

Not the OP, but I used to work for a company that did the IT support side of the gaming machines.

They had a regular steal the casino attendant's set of keys to the machines, under plain camera view. The stupidity here is that you're under camera supervision as soon as you set foot in the parking lot in pretty much any place with gambling. The other dumb part is that their keys don't even access the cash box or anything that tampers with the gameplay. At best they could have taken a roll of paper or a lightbulb.

The smartest way was--during the time I was there--we had a string of substantial wins across multiple locations. A bunch of the businesses were actually reporting losses which is very uncommon, but nobody was talking to each other or reporting it immediately to the gaming company so nobody caught them in the act. There were indeed patterns with the affected machines, so clearly they discovered one of those miracle software bugs that manipulates the logic.

Wondering the same thing re: Lawless. I hear Ted Raimi is slated to join. Anyone reach out to Renee O'Connor for a guest appearance?

I still maintain the Final Fantasy issue is possibly the greatest strategy guide ever printed. Remember this one?

Early RPG, the first in a long franchise, and they came out with this gorgeous book with all these maps and enemy stats layed out. I poured over that before I even had the game. Got one taken away in school and had to get another.

I always wondered why they never told us there was a FF 2 and 3 in Japan. I have a fuzzy recollection of a tiny screenshot of FF3, but before the internet--if it wasn't reported in Nintendo Power then we probably didn't know anything about it.
