I think I would have preferred it to be an allegory for depression. For me the best horror films aren't just scary to scare people but can have a deeper meaning or message, such as one of my favorite movies, the Babadook.

But I haven't seen it yet so I'll hold off judgement. I'm still a huge fan of the original short.

David,

Hopefully I'm not too late. I want to start by saying I'm a big fan of all your short horror films (I've been subscribed to your YouTube channel for some time now).

I actually usually enjoy horror shorts instead of horror feature films because I feel sometimes feature films get so caught up in explaining the horror or trying to continuously "scare" the audience with cheap jump scares to keep the run time going, whereas horror shorts briefly create context and then get right to the scares. How do you feel having to elongate the story of an originally very brief experience affects the overall quality of the film if at all? And how do feature horror films compare to shorts?

I don't mean to say this in doubt of your film. I'm very excited to see it and I do enjoy quite a lot of feature horror films like The Babadook, the Witch, the Ring, etc. thanks for your time!
