Hello Dr Bocian. I've been doing gel nails (UV-cured nail polish)at home for 5 years, I'm not a trained nail technician. A year ago, I developed an allergy for all permanent type of nail polish (acrylic, gel etc). After doing some research I realised it may be self induced, by repeat incorrect application at home. I also realise more and more women get this allergy due to these products becoming more accessible. My mother also has this allergy.
The symptoms include severe itching around nail bed, blisters and nails lifting.
My question: will I ever be able to have beautiful nails again or is this a permanent thing? :(
