In which way are you planning to implement scripting or programming? As this is one of the mayor things an engineers has to deal with it just needs to be in this game.

In my opinion this could be of of the biggest features after multiplayer and survival. It would attract a lot players that want to go beyond the functionality of games like minecraft. It would also be great to have an option for more experienced users to create custom blocks.
