Do you think it's reasonable to think that Yanez was, basically, just freaking out when Castile said he had a firearm and didn't stop moving? Meaning, Yanez obviously should have said, "hands on the wheel" but he couldn't believe Castile was still reaching and was trying to get him to stop quickly, and therefore didn't give the command properly?

Also, OP's parents sent them off with 2 strangers to enter another country illegally where the future for OP was completely unknown.

It seems really foolish to me. I'm glad it worked out, for sure.

Once a gun is pointed at you, your life is over. You literally would not have time to defend yourself before they pull the trigger.

If someone is reaching for a gun and you wait until you see one to reach for yours, your life is over if they were actually going for it. Again, you can't outdraw someone who already has a weapon in their hand.

Unfortunately there were bad decisions on both sides, here. Castile should have waited to reach for his wallet until Yanez knew he had a weapon and gave further orders, and Yanez should have told him to place his hands on the steering wheel immediately.

A reasonable person would state that there is only one reason to reach for a gun when a cop is in front of you (assuming you haven't been ordered to).

Do you think the wall would also help with illegal drugs coming over our border?
