Recently stopped over in Israel for 3 days on the way home. Right in the middle of these attacks.

Let me tell you. It's a thoroughly unpleasant to be compulsively checking the missile alert website to see if the alerts are getting closer to where you are staying.

And even more so to be running to the bomb shelter when the siren finally does go off.

Having recently returned from Jordan, it's not even close. There is a portrait of the current king, his kid (obviously being groomed for succession), and the former king absolutely everywhere. Like on street corners, every point of entry, every restaurant I've been to, in every gift shop. Even carpets with the likeness of the king.

If you ask random people why that is, they swear up and down that everyone just loves the king. This is not a place with free press.
