How many hair studios are hiding the dirty little secret that if all the other procedures fail or the client isn’t a good candidate for a transplant, if they can even do a transplant at all, the final remedy is a glorified wig that needs regluing every 8 months?

Oh yeah. I’ve heard all about it. They’ll start with midoxynil (or whatever it’s called) and pills that a doctor can prescribe for a fifth of the cost, charge for hair lasers that studies can’t seem to show yielding any result and they hype up the glue on hair (the wig with extra steps) like it’s a lot more advanced than it is. They will dick you around in the meantime when thry can plainly see immediately if it’s going to work or not.

They have a patent for a service called “strand by strand” which they pass off as the actual service when in fact it’s only a name for a appliance filed under “wigs, toupees and hairpieces.” Even if you like the result, you would have to keep paying them to clean and reset it. It finally makes sense why many rich men including actors don’t even bother with it and embrace their baldness. If it ever happens to me, I wouldn’t bother with that nonsense.
