Agreed. I have a nephew with severe disabilities that greatly and negatively affect his quality of life, and also severely limits the choices his mom can make about her life. It’s part of the problem with ASD encompassing such a wide spectrum - saying he wouldn’t want a cure is very tone deaf to me.

A family member has schizophrenia and it is an endless nightmare for him. He’d take a cure in a second.

That’s terrible - I’m sorry that happened to you.

Many of my students suffer from anxiety, and we are required by law to accommodate them. As a big believer in accommodating disabilities, I am happy to do so: however, I am increasingly concerned about how anxiety is being handled. For example, if there is a presentation or Q and A component, we will be asked to come up with an assignment that doesn’t require the anxious student to do this. Similarly, if they are anxious about appearing on a screen, we can’t ask them to keep their cameras on, even if this has a negative effect on the class as a whole. To me, as someone who suffered from anxiety, I worry that these sorts of accommodations just confirm my students’ beliefs that they can’t do the things that they are anxious about. What are your thoughts on the best ways to accommodate students with anxiety?

Hi! I love your products and was excited to try your sunscreen, but I had a bad reaction to it. I suspected I might, as I often react to mineral sunscreens, but wanted to give it a shot. Any suggestions for those of us who can’t tolerate mineral sunscreens (I know they are often recommended for people with sensitive skin)?
