From being a "devout atheist" as you say, what was it that convinced you that a God did exist and why Catholicism as a specific belief?

I don't mean to be rude but "rich intellectual traditions" and "a nagging sense" seems fairly light fair to demonstrate the existence of a deity and fails the outsider test.

It's less atheist propaganda and more foundational epistemology.

Faith is not a reliable way to truth as there is literally no position that you could not belief based on faith. Methodological naturalism has been repeatedly shown to be the most reliable process we have to understand reality and what is true whereas revelatory epistemology is a failure for the reason above.

Atheists understand this, hence the reasonable position of being without belief until sufficient sound evidence is shown.

If you disagree with Russell's definition of faith, what would you substitute?

Your point is fair but slightly pedantic. Blockchain, almost uniquely, has been positioned to solve many of the technology world's ills due to its privacy, immutability and distributed nature. Yes, it's just a technology but almost everything it does fails when one considers what a full payments technology system needs to support. For a technologist to say that it can solve any other problem than the small scale crypto ledger is blatant misrepresentation let alone what the shysters and grifters have been saying about it.

Trying to get any of them working at banking/payments scale requires an impossible amount of infrastructure and still does not match up to what we need for the worldwide credit card/electronic payments.

I’m sorry but your comment does not make any sense. Mutations to viruses and bacteria occur as part of the organisms lifecycle and are entirely separate of whether the infected person is vaccinated or not. This paradigm is not the same as drug resistance.

Why do you think this is an issue?

What do you think a vaccine does and how do you think resistance occurs?
